Kasey Smith

With 13 years of experience at the middle and high school levels, I am always looking for opportunities to grow professionally. I have worked in roles as a middle and high school English teacher, a Professional Development Specialist at the LIU, and now as a Tech Ed teacher at Gettysburg High School.

I hail from Virginia Tech where I studied English as an undergraduate student and Secondary Education and Curriculum and Instruction as a graduate student. I then went to McDaniel for my Learning Technologies Specialist certificate. Currently I am working towards my administrative certification.

For four years I worked at the high school level in Maryland, the next six years I spent in middle school ELA before moving to the IU where I currently reside.

If the students feel valued and their needs are being recognized and met, then they are engaged and learning. I want the teachers I work with to feel confident and supported in various implementation process so their students flourish.
