Week 7
10.10-10.13.17

This week we focus on what we need (a day to catch our breath).  Students revised their opening paragraphs of their Verbonia TDA based on skills we learned in class last week.  We continue our focus on grammar with a more intense look at active and passive voice.  We will end the week with a quiz on our grammar skill.

Homework

By Friday students need to turn in their warm-ups (completion-based) and have their three responses posted on Trello for chapter 8.

Week 6
10.2-10.5-.17

Students utilize stations to engage in tasks this week.  With their first army assignments, and pending transfers, they are eager to earn points for their team.  This week students will focus on grammar through their warm-ups and Khan Academy work as well as read chapter 8, engage in their Leadership PBL, and think critically about their writing.

Homework

By Thursday, students need to submit their PBL 2 document (submit on Schoology), elaboration practice (shared with me), post chapter 8 responses on Trello, complete the first four pages of their warm-up.

Week 5
9.25-9.29.17

Students will spend this week finalizing their CoSpaces project and reading chapter 7 in Ender's Game.  We will spend time archiving our writing as well as in class discussion about our novel.

By Thursday, students need to submit their CoSpaces link on Schoology.

Week 4
9.19-9.22.17

Students are working hard this week!  Don't they every week?  Stations in class revolve around finishing scene two of CoSpaces, finishing up chapter six in Ender's Game, and working on a variety of writing skills with me.  Students will revise their RFID ACE response on Tuesday (final submissions due Wednesday) and then begin looking at their PSSA TDA responses on Wednesday.

By Wednesday, students need to submit their ACE revision.  By Friday, students should have chapter 6 finished with study guide and CoSpaces scene 2 complete.

Week 3
9.11-9.15.17

This week of school has students reading chapter 5 of Ender's Game, posting on Trello, writing a TDA (first one of the year!) and applying what they know about author's point of view to a future scene in the book.  These activities will launch us into next week where we will explore virtual reality!  The first set of grades go live in MMS on Tuesday so please check there.

By Friday students need to have chapter 5 and 6 read in Ender's Game as well as four new Trello posts for this week.

Week 2
9.6-9.8.17

This week of school has students working through stations to analyze characters, listen to audio for chapter 4 in Ender's Game, focus on types of narration, and close reading two articles that are related to our novel.

Homework

By Friday students need to have their station materials completed: chapter 1-3 discussion questions, chapter 4 update on Trello, RFID ACE response on Schoology, China's two child policy response video submitted on Schoology.
